The scheme also includes rented accommodation from Registered Providers of Social Housing (Housing Association), private rented accommodation, and shared ownership properties for sale.

We aim to give you more choice in deciding where you want to live. Properties that are available will be advertised each week. A new list of properties will be available every Wednesday morning showing our current vacancies.

You must then tell us which properties you are interested in. This process is known as bidding. You may only bid for a property if your application has been accepted onto our housing register. Each weekly advertising cycle begins on a Wednesday, and you have until the following Monday to place your bids.

Please note, if you bid for a property that is owned by one of the Ideal Choice Homes scheme partners, we will share any relevant information regarding your application with them. You can ask for a copy of all the information held about you for which the data Protection Act applies. Any requests should be made in writing to Health and Housing Services at Lancaster City Council.
